Advice

Steve's birthday is coming up in a couple weeks (#33) and I think he'd like an ipod or something similar. Any advice or opinions on what's good, least expensive route, etc.? I saw there are ipods and all other gadgets on ebay, but I'm not sure if I'm confindent enough to buy from an online auction (the last auction I set foot at I ended up coming home much poorer and 66 acres in hand). We are so behind the times when it comes to techno gadgets and such. Here's the rundown: newest TV 1999 - no HD, no digital, will probably need to purchase those special receivers for all our ancient TV's once the signal changes next year; music at our house = a 3CD boom box. No mp3's, ipods, etc. The girls both received portable CD players this year. All our cell phones are the very basic model - no texting going on, no cameras or videos - just phone calls. Video cam circa 2001, no digital capabilities b/c at the time I was too scared to deal with anything that combined a video recorder and a computer. Still my excuse. So, needless to say, I'm a little unsure of the techno waters and would love some input. Then once I purchase something, I'll have my 4 and 6 year old kids teach me how to use it!

I don't know about all the brands or whatever. Paul and I both have iPod shuffles, which are the least expensive of the lot, but get the job done. THere is no screen or anything, just holds music (more than I need, but not as much as the others) and can play in order or on shuffle mode. There are of course other fancier models. I guess it just depends on what you are looking for. I hope that helps.
ALso its super super easy to use!

I have a I pod 30gig...it was like $200 bucks but I love it, the screen, how much music it can hold, the arm bands, covers etc...I have a wireless adapter that I use to play it through my car speakers (unless you have an AUX plugin). I wouldn't do ebay....it's probably easier to buy new that way you have the stores warranty also. I believe Wal-mart now has I pods....Good Luck! <3kristi-in-va!

OMG that is too funny . I just got an MP3 player for when I work out and sometimes when I work. It took me forever too cuz I am soooo not into the techno world either, that's where Adam my young techno savy teenager came into play. I still don't understand alot of stuff and I didn't need too much space for videos and all that so I got an RCA MP3 player it's got a screen and holds a ton of music( plus it's inexpensive). Hope I helped ya. If not call Adam..lol

Tough call - as soon as you buy whatever you're going to get it's going to be outdated. Tell Steve HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
